Overview
Migratory connectivity is the degree to which populations are spatially connected between different periods of the annual cycle. The Norris lab has contributed towards making major advances in describing patterns of connectivity in songbirds, shorebirds, and monarch butterflies. Using theoretical models and experimental laboratory systems, we also continue to work on understanding the population consequences of migratory connectivity and we have recently initiated several large-scale studies to quantify migratory connectivity of birds and insects across their breeding and non-breeding ranges.
